After graduation Mr. Defino served as law clerk to the Honorable Thomas F. Shebell, Jr., for one year and has been a partner with Jacobowitz, Defino and Latimer, PC, since 1991.

Joseph’s service to his community and profession include membership on the Family Law Committee of the Monmouth Bar association. He was a Trustee of Monmouth Bar Association and is a former Chair of the early Settlement Panel of the Superior Court in Monmouth County and a former Chair of the Family Law Committee of the Monmouth County Bar Association. He has written and published a chapter in Family Law Practice in New Jersey (Law Practice Handbooks, Inc. 1997), is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers’ Association, NJ. Joseph is a Qualified Family Law Mediator and is the Municipal Court Judge for Wall Township, NJ. He is a litigator and is recognized as zealous advocate for his clients. He brings panoply of legal experience to the practice of these specialties, family and real estate law, and has extensive trial experience, and Joe continues to maintain a real estate practice and represents several condominium/home owner associations.
